Roberto Colón was born and raised in Aibonito, Puerto Rico. He obtained his High School Diploma from the Aibonito High School and joined the US Army, where he served for three years; including 18 months in the Republic of South Vietnam.
Roberto obtained a Bachelor Degree in accounting from the Inter American University in San Juan of Puerto Rico; he also worked for the Department of the Treasury in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico as a Income Tax Auditor for 7 years. In 1986, Roberto moved to Stamford, CT where he worked on different companies, occupying different positions that include Account Payable Clerk for Waldenbooks, and as a Staff Accountant for SiberHegner LTD, (a Swiss Import-Export Company). Roberto joined SSARIS Advisors LLC (a financial advisors firm), on 1992 as a staff accountant and eventually promoted as a Controller of the firm.
Roberto has recently completed his MBA in accounting from the Sacred Hearth University in Fairfield, CT. A strong supporter of community service, Roberto possess a wide experience as a committee and board member for other local organizations including ASPIRA of Connecticut, Puertorican Association of Stamford and the Waterside Green Condominium Association.
