Pedro has served as a Board member of the INTAKE Organization since 2013, and is currently the Chair of the Audience Development Committee.
Since moving to Stamford in 2001, he served in the Aspiring Leadership Through Action Program (ALTA) as Coordinator of the Parent Committee. As an experienced community activist and leader, he has experienced first-hand the needs for cultural integration and racial understanding in Fairfield County. Lazo is the co-founder of the Ecuadorian Civic Committee of Stamford, where he served as President from 2008-2014. He is committed to educating our community about cultural diversity and our role in civic and social responsibility
A native of Ecuador, Mr. Lazo attended Eloy Alfaro National College in Guayaquil, Ecuador and received a Bachelor’s in Modern Humanities and Social Philosophy. He was also enrolled in the University of Guayaquil’s School of Economics. In 2014 he completed the Passport to Success and Introduction to QuickBooks Certificate, hosted by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Stamford, and is currently enrolled in a Child Development Assistant program.
His work has been recognized by the Stamford Board of Education, Yerwood Center, National Assembly of Ecuador, Ecuadorian Consulate in Connecticut, Federation of Ecuadorian Institutions Abroad (FEDEE), Club Independiente of New Haven, the Ecuadorian Youth Organization of New York, among others.
His hobbies include reading, researching and serving the community and families. He resides in Stamford with his family.
