Marise Montrose

MariseMontrosePicMarise Montrose was born and raised in Norwalk, CT by her two Haitian immigrant parents. As the first generation Haitian-American, she is fluent in Haitian-Creole.

Montrose spent 10 years in the public school system learning about French cultures around the world and learning the language. After the completion of high school, Montrose graduated from Hofstra University with a BA in public relations and a minor in political science.

Marise currently works at a technology public relations firm in New York City. She comes to INTAKE to share the mission of advocating for the native instruments of the vast cultures of the world.

Passionate about entertainment and the arts, she enjoys Haitian music — including Konpa and Zouk. She also enjoys contemporary music and ancient Chinese pottery.
