Dr. Lisa Petno has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Norwalk Youth Symphony for the past eight years, serving in various capacities including a three-year term as chairman. During her tenure with NYS, she has led the Youth Committee, organized international tours, spearheaded Norwalk Youth Symphony’s Annual Giving Campaign and worked to rebrand the organization. Currently, as a vice-president and member of the Executive Committee, Lisa chairs the youth symphony’s Development Committee. She joined INTAKE’s Board of Directors in 2012.
Dr. Petno received her A.B. degree from Princeton University and her M.D. degree from Cornell University Medical College. She has also conducted visual systems neuroscience research in the Laboratory of Neurobiology at Rockefeller University.
Lisa relates her passion for music and education, as well as her involvement in organizations dedicated to improving the quality of young lives through music, to her four children, who all grew up playing music and involved with youth symphonies and music programs in Connecticut and New York City.
She resides with her husband, Doug, and her children in New Canaan, Connecticut.
