Intake goes to Yankee Stadium

Yankees vs. Phillies June 23, 2015

Yesterday was an eventful day for INTAKE members. We were fortunate enough to have been given twenty Yankee tickets by Harman Kardon, an audio equipment company headquartered in Stamford, CT. Harman’s professional audio systems amplifies the sound for Yankee Stadium and other venues across the world. We thank them for their generosity and support!

The Yankees played the Phillies last night and it was a competitive game. Both teams are cherished in their home cities; however, it was obvious who was favored to win – no other than the Yankees. INTAKE was glad to be able to watch the game from such great seats while wearing Yankees apparel.

The game was supposed to start at 7pm but it ended up starting around 8:30pm due to the rain. INTAKE was lucky enough to watch the game from the midfield section seats that were sheltered so our members didn’t get wet! It was a very hot and humid day and everyone was excited for the game to start. Once it hit 8:30pm the game started and everybody was on the edge of their seats! The Yankees were winning at the start of the game and INTAKE members were delighted. With 19 seats occupied, INTAKE made its presence known at the stadium. Several INTAKE families with children attended and they could not be happier to be there.

The sunset that could be seen at the stadium was a beautiful one and everyone could not take their eyes off it. It was a gorgeous mix of red, blue, and purple, something you don’t see every day and INTAKE was front row and center for it. Another rare surprise that INTAKE members witnessed-someone caught a baseball right near us!!! A Yankee team member hit the ball and it landed right behind us! It was an exhilarating moment.

Being around a crowd of people that love baseball and treasure the Yankees team so much was what made this outing so enjoyable. The INTAKE members were just glad to be there around people who simply just love the game! We hope to be able to go to another event like this in the future and hopefully with more members!

Recap of the game: The Yankees were up by two at the end of the third ending and then the Phillies caught up and made five homeruns in the fourth ending making the score 6 to 3, Phillies. The Yankees fought back and made three home runs in the 5th ending but it didn’t help them when the Phillies made five home runs in the 9th ending. Yankees lost 11-6.

Our home team lost but in the end we had a great time and we were so happy to experience a Yankees game. Once again we thank Harman for making this possible!
