INTAKE Students Illustrate an Imperial Melody

Colombian artist Rosa Colón, from the Loft Artists Association, joined our students for a drawing session in preparation for their performance at the 2015 edition for Next Generation Concert, which took place at the Stamford Palace Theatre in mid February.

A few days ago, we joined Rosa in her studio where she shared with us how much she enjoyed the experience, she told us her impressions on INTAKE and what such an imperial melody like “El Condor Pasa” evokes in her memory. For Rosa, students who receive a music education and have an artistic inclination are more perceptive to detail, which in turns reinforces their analytical skills; she also reflected on how much INTAKE strengthens the relationship of their students with their parents though native music.

We thank Rosa for assisting us with helping our students illustrate a beautiful melody like “El Condor Pasa”, indeed it was a wonderful outlet for them to assimilate its symbolism.
