Beryl Diamond Chacon
Beryl Diamond Chacon is a concert violinist and a graduate of The Juilliard School, where she studied chamber music with Earl Carlyss of the Juilliard String Quartet and Josef Gingold. She completed her violin studies at Juilliard with Sally Thomas. She recently joined the worldwide faculty of the Burgos International Music Festival in Burgos, Spain, to teach violin and performance technique, coach chamber music ensembles, and perform in concert. She maintains a teaching studio in Wilton, CT, where she gives individual lessons to beginners through returning adults.
She has performed as concertmaster in Avery Fisher Hall with her chamber orchestra, featuring James Earl Jones as narrator. She served as concertmaster and violin soloist with members of the London Symphony and the Royal Philharmonic, playing a private performance for the Queen and members of the British Royal family. On Broadway, she began her career with the Royal Shakespeare Company, nightly performing the Mendelsohn Violin Concerto.
She has created, programmed, and performed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Music on the Balcony and returns frequently to the Met for special projects and concerts. Her concert ensemble, Beryllium, creates interactive concerts with new music and world music intertwined with music from previous centuries.
She has recorded for numerous pop artists on the Columbia, BMG, and Warner labels, including Tony Bennett, Carly Simon, Katy Perry, Bette Midler, and Billy Joel. On her personal label, Beryllium Records, she has performed and produced Orion Music’s The Romantic Piano Trio, OME:A Piano Quartet Sampler, and Beryllium Performs The Chamber Music of Joe Gianono.
